Informing the community about the school’s involvement in Brickhouse haven through letters and display work
Curriculum Activities Included:
Debate - the children take on the characters of the locals and
planning people and debate the creation of the Brickhouse
Haven and it will be videoed on Environment Day.
News Report - the children will put together a television news report
that show the development of the Brickhouse Haven before, during and after
completion.
Newspaper Article - the children will produce reports of the
development of the Brickhouse Haven then present using MS Publisher.
Letter - the children will write letters to the local community to
explain what is happening at the Brickhouse Haven and what it means for them.
Leaflet & Posters - the children will put together a display which
will show the
changes to Brickhouse Haven over time.
Display - the children will put together a display which will show

Poems - the children will use their work in the area as a
stimulus to write poems.
Recount - the children will use the project as a stimulus to write a
recount about the
Environment Day.
