Science
Working in the classroom, school grounds, at Brickhouse Haven and at the RSPB centre wide areas of the curriculum were covered.
This included investigating and comparing habitats, seed dispersal and food chains. The impact people, plants & animals have on the environment.
RSPB teacher work with the children investigating the school grounds as a habitat for birds. The local RSPB outreach teacher
spent half a day with the pupils on site at school (2004 cost around £50) and the children visited the centre for a day.

Curriculum Activities Included:

Use quadrants to investigate woodland habitat (Sc1 2a, 2c, 2e, 2f - l)
Use of branching databases ad keys to classify plants, animals and habitats (Sc2 4a, 4b, 4c)
Investigate what makes up a woodland habitat and compare to other habitats (Sc2 5a, 5b, 5c) RSPB representative to visit the school and work with the children investigating the school grounds as a habitat for birds.
Use observational drawings of plants and animals to draw conclusions. (Sc1 2e - j)
Look at the food chains within the habitats to be investigated (Sc2 5a, 5d, 5e) This will include  a trip to the RSPB (Sandwell Valley)
Seed dispersal with the woodland (Sc2 3c)
